Misako Rocks!

Yesterday I was invited to give a speech and do book signing at Rockville Centre library in Long island city. It was my first time to go there. A lady with a white hat is Marissa who is a librarian and held this event by herself! I am amazed by her^_^

A lot of families showed up and I had a good time to talk to them. I love running panels at libraries and schools, because I’m in their communities and can get to know them.

Next weekend I’m going to attend Animinicon Soho as a guest speaker. It’s a local event, so it would be nice to see NY anime lovers.

Last night Kurirn and I rented a car to visit ft Tilden Beach. We got there around 8pm!!

Look at this crazy wave—-! At that time a thunder was coming there… (I hate thunder and lightening>_<)

Right after we finished a dinner on the beach, it started raining crazy. So we had to go back to a car.

We stayed there for only 30 minutes…. what a trip.

Kuririn and I went to see Fireworks of fourth of July.

Well on the way there, my body was too exhausted to ride a bike and even walk cause of a crazy heat.

Also I had a gelato… that was a bad idea!! My stomach can’t handle any daily food>_< It was really tasty though.

So you know when the time fire works started, we were ready to go home… how pathetic!

At least I took this photo before I got sick.

On Memorial weekend Kuririn and I went to Central park to hang out! This time we did a boat ride and bike ride!!! I mean it’s TANDEM BIKE!! which I really really DID NOT want to do.

But it was Kuririn’s dream… so you know I just had to do it!

He was rowing a boat for a straight hour!! I was just sitting, taking photos and being a girl…

Next time I’m going to do too!!

I’m pretending to row a boat… hehehe! Both of us are sort of scared by water. So it took forever to do this.

Now we loved it. We’re going back there to do again!!( I mean I’m going to row!)

What a dorky couple we are! I was seriously scared to ride this tandem bike…

We rode a whole central park and encountered three bike accidents in a hour. Isn’t it crazy?

It was fun to ride a tandem bike. But this was the first and last ride for sure..>_<

When you visit Central Park, you should definitely try a boat!!!

I joined Anime Central IL from 14th until 16th. It was such a biiiiiiiiiig festival!!  I had a great time to talk to my fans and run panels.

I wanted to check out “Soap Bubble” party, but a huge-long line scared me… so I gave up. I used to go out all night long(when I was younger)!! Where was my energy?!

I saw a lot of this cute-sailor cusplayers. I don’t know the character name. But I know it’s been very popular!

I signed on her bag^_^ I hope it last for a long time–

Tada— She’s my baby Haruka chan! No I’m just kidding. I wish she’s mine.

My fan brought her beautiful baby. I couldn’t believe how quiet she was!

Look at this!!! I’m super afraid of heights… but I did it! Acen people took me to Sear’s tower in downtown.

We went up to 103rd floor which has this “glass-floor”  Man.. even this photo scares me>_<

Acen staff took me to dinner/places where I wanted to check out. I want to thank them very very much.

And I do hope everybody who came to Acen had a great time!

I’m invited to Anime Central Rosemont IL as one of guests.

This time my fan=friend JENNY from Texas is coming to Acen to help me out! Since Kuririn doesn’t come with me, it will be a “girl’s trip” this year.

On Friday I’m going to give a speech & show a video from my Japan trip. On Saturday I’m going to run a Manga/Comic drawing workshop. Of course I’ll have a booth in Dealer’s room to do book signing.

If you are planning on coming to Acen, please stop by my booth!!

All right… I need to get back to my packing… sigh…

It was my first time to give a speech at a school in Staten Island NY.

I took a ferry to get the island and saw Statue of the liberty!I forgot taking photos of it…

Well IS2 is a big junior high school which has around 800 students. This time about 90 kids? came to my speech.

Everybody smiled and welcomed me. I was very happy to hear that they loved my comics.

In the end they gave me amazing presents which are story boards about Misako Rocks! I was very moved. It’s my first time to receive such creative presents from students.

I took a photo with teachers and a librarian from NYPL. I would love to go back there again to give another speech!

Tada—-! I put all of them on my wall. Now I’m excited to draw in front of them^_^

Some of students drew my character “MISAKO”! Fan- art works always make me happy.

This weekend I was invited to Sakura matsuri at Brooklyn Botanic Garden as a guest.

I did book signing and run a workshop with an amazing voice actress Veronica Taylor!! This time a lot of kids participated and showed us their talent!

There was no SAKURA…. but we’re surrounded by other beautiful colorful flowers!

Now I have to ready for Anime Central IL.

I guess I have no time to draw until the end of this month. Maybe I’m going to bring some of works to Acen…
