Julian Casablancas in NYC

julian

Last Wed, Kuririn and I went to see Julian Casablancas’ show in NYC which was sold out right away! We’re super excited to see his performance!(I should say I was excited.)

I’ve listened to Strokes and liked their first album. Then JC started doing solo project! His music has 80’s sound and we think he pulled out really really good.

I love his singing voice a lot too! Of course he’s super attractive. So many young girls were screaming(and me too…)

Now I want to see Strokes show–!

Noke no Daidokoro (Farmers’ Kitchen)

I’m back’n NYC! Oh my God.. It’s super cold. I thought Tokyo was getting colder. But it was nothing compared to this!

While I was staying in Tokyo, I didn’t have a lot of time to update my blog. So I gotta catch up right now–!

Today I introduce my favorite Macrobiotic food restaurant “Noka no Daidokoro” in Tokyo. This kind of restaurant/cafe is getting popular there. I just hope it won’t be just TRENDY spots! As for vegetarians including me, they’re important places for us. I remember that I always had a hard time to find good vegetarian restaurants in Japan. Hopefully it will change in near future.

Look at these beautiful veggies! It’s their famous salad bar. I think depend on seasons, they set up various kinds of veggies.  I ate fresh egg plants. They are unbelievably sweet!

neon6

I’m so happy!

Noka no Daidokoro has three branches in Tokyo. One of them in Ebisu is pretty big. If you’re in Tokyo or are going to visit there soon, please check out this restaurant!

Woman of the Year 2010 in Roppongi

Hello my friend! I have a big news to tell you.
I received an award: Woman of the year 2010 by NIKKEI Woman magazine! This magazine pick top 15 Japanese women who accomplished something big and could be a role model for young people.
Besides me, a governor, mayor and presidents of companies won awards. So I was very shocked to hear that I was one of them.

The ceremony was in Roppongi. A lot of medias came. And a Minister Mizuho Fukushima came to give a speech for us! I gave my business card to her…. I still can’t believe that I introduced myself to her in person!

It showed up on a big screen.

Can you find menikkei3

After I received an award, I gave a quick speech in Japanese which was my first time! I got so used to talk in English at events. I felt nervous!

nikkei5

In the end we took photos together. Past winners came too. It was a great party!

You can always read Nikkei Woman Magazine online. This month there are articles of winners including me.

Now I’m motivated to work on my books!

When we used to work at Tokyo Disneyland(10 years ago) she gave me her drawings which I really loved. I think she should design some stationary.

Then finally finally! I visited my Muse Michael Jackson’s shop in Shibuya. We wanted to get some T-shirts. But they are almost 100 dollars per shirt! Ha! for T-shirt?! So we gave up… at least I got a Thriller Pin…… sigh.

Tokyo Disneyland

Konnichiwa! Everyone. Right now I’m back’n Tokyo Japan.

I came here to have several meetings and visit my family. In next week I’ll be able to talk more details about my meetings! So wait and see–

Yesterday Takashima family went to TOKYO DISNEYLAND where I used to work during my college days. Since the day was super beautiful, I belive more than 30,000 people were in TDL! We could get on only two rides: Jungle Cruse and Space Mountain. We really wanted to try “Pooh’s Huney Hunt”. But we had to wait about three hours! So we gave up on it.

The land was covered with beautiful Christmas ornaments. So it was just worth to be there–!

Tomorrow I’m going to visit my high school to research Japanese high school girls’ life. It will be interesting!
