I gotta get ready

Hmmm… These days I’ve been sick>_<  And I’m going to Japan in the end of this month. So I have to recover by then!

Right now I’m working on my new comic series “Made in Japan vol1″ ^_^ This is going to be very different from my past books and I’m very excited to work on this.

They’re sample pages from Chapter1.  I need a lot of photos for this book. So When I visit my family in Japan, I have to dig my old photo albums!

BigNazo monsters

On the way home from Central Park, we stopped by National History Museum to use a bathroom.

Before the entrance a lot of kids were crying and shouting “Scary scary!!”  We wondered what’s going on inside this museum?!

We happened to encounter crazy monsters there!

Last day in Oct(Halloween)

1

Happy Halloween everyone! Kuririn and I went to Central park to see “changing-color-leaves” We thought today was the day to check out!

2

We almost forgot that we’re living in NYC! Walking around in CP made us just happy and relaxed…

3

Hey! It’s MOMIJI tree!!! Yay! My parents have this red tree(Momiji) in their front yard.

8

We were wandering around almost 2 hours!! When we came back home, our legs were just like trees! Ha!

Halloween party at Botanic Garden

Brooklyn Botanic Garden always holds amazing events!!!

Today I was invited to do book signing and demonstration at their Halloween party Ghouls & Gourds! Most of them were too young for my books. But they seemed to enjoy my demonstration a lot!

I was just happy to be outside and have a great time with a lot of families, teens and adults!

They’re amazing!!! It reminds me of my puppeteer days! I used to walk on stilts and act. But I wasn’t good at dancing with it…

1

I showed up as a Panda Bear like last year. Some of kids remembered me! Yay—

2

3

I drew some Halloween-theme-illustration. I had only 15 minutes to do!

4

A lot of adults started gathering the tents. That was great!

5

And of course kids wanted to wear my Panda head. I let them wear during my demonstration. They’re sooooooo cuuuuuuuuuute!!! Aghhh.. too cute..

This is my favorite outside event. I could meet a lot of picture book authors who I barely have a chance to talk^_^

Okay… so now I should go back to work. Soon I’ll show some of sample pages from my new comic “Made in Japan volw1″!!

Yesterday Kuririn and I were playing a song from Flaming Lips for Jimbo and Maria.

But I totally forgot cords…  Kuririn gave me a guitar lesson for a long time. I’m such a bad student.

Well at least we look cool here.

1997 and 2009

Last week Kuririn and I took his family to Statue of Liberty. His parents are back’n Wisco! and his brother Jimbo is on a plane to Germany now.

In 1997 I visited NYC by myself and I went there too. On the way to the island, I took a photo of myself.

Last night we went to Karaoke in Manhattan. I haven’t been there since my Japan trip!

This Karaoke Bar/booth has Japanese songs besides English. So Maria and I were rocking out in Japanese!
