Hot day!

Kurirn and I went to China town this afternoon. Today was such a beautiful day!!!!!!
Sun light made us happy and excited to walk around. We haven't been out like this for a long long time.
I got a bubble tea. It's a tea house on Mott street manhattan. A looooooooooong time ago(almost 7 years ago?) I came here to order the same tea. At that time I was a poor hippie-puppeteer. When I smelled this tea, the old sad/happy memories came back to me instantly.
Maybe I should go back there again to remind me of the days. Sometimes I become lazy and I need to be motivated like I used to be!
Thanks Mr.Bubble tea!!!!!!

How did it happen?

So I don't know how it did happen, but the other day I received an e-mail that I'm officially nominated for Venice Beach/LA Play wright award this year!
It's pretty surprising and I'm still try not to believe it. hahaha.
Until I published Biker Girl, I was making puppets all of the time. So compared to other artists, I don't have that many experiences as a comic artist.
That's why I'm very honored and pleased to hear that they found out about my works and enjoy.
I really really appreciate for everyone who read my books!

Thanks to this award, I'm more motivated than ever! Detective Jermain vol2 will be more hip and more dramas!! And I'm working on my new story for DFC magazine "Peach de Punch" at the same time too.
I can'wait to show this story to youuuuuuu

DFC party

I just came back from the DFC launch party in London. The location was fantastic! The building of the party is located right in front of a river and I could see a beautiful London view.

So first I went to see editors fo TITAN publishing company. They carry licensed art works(Sponge Bob, Transformer etc). Also they publish graphic novels too. So it was a nice meeting with them! They're very sweet and nice people. I'm so glad to meet them! We're talking about my side business illustration works a lot!

Then I went to DFC launch party. This new UK kids comic magazine will be out on May 30th. If you google DFC, you can find it.
And this magazine will be only online subscription! So anybody from anywhere can buy it. I'm going to start running a story from September. I'll add my story on my website pretty soon. It will be very cute and goofy 10 years old girl, Nara and her mean little princess cat, Peach. I used my cat as a model. Her name is Boo and she's 20 years old! Oh my God!!
Anywhooo this is a weekly magazine and every page is color! You will see my a whole color "Peach de Punch" story!

Tomorrrow I'm going to go back to NYC! I'm excited and miss London too. Once I arrive there, I have to do so so many things... I wrote a memo which I need to do and gives me a headache already><

It has been an amazing trip and I'm sure I'll be back'n London pretty soon!

Hugs!!

Oh my God--- I had a great great day yesterday!
OK,,first. I had a meeting with a publisher in London. It went pretty well. So let's hope--- I think someday you'll find my books "Detective Jermain" in book stores in UK too!
I really love to talk to the editor. When I met him last year, I shared ideas of graphin novels with him instantely! And that's really really important!

And last night I went to see manman show in Cargo!!! Finally I gave Honus Honus the CD of Mong Hang which is my great music friend from Tokyo! I think manman will enjoy MongHang music world for sure.
Anyway their show was packed of course. I was there by myself and I notice that one guy in the crowd started touching my body!!!!!!!!!!! Oh Man! I tried to catch his arm, but he was too quick! So I got very scared and moved to the end of the room.
And I met a Japanese girl Toshi chan.
Manman totally rocked the show and I made a new friend. in the end everything was OK.
After their show, I talked to manman for a long time!
Wow.... I felt so so happy and excited. They're very sweet and fun people. I wish I could talk to them more or see their show in Europe more.
I bet they'll keep rocking Europe!! If you ever have a chance, please check out their show!

Back'n from Bristol

Yesterday afternoon I came back to London from Bristol comic convention.
I had a great time this year again! Even though bad bad hives irritated me!

Thanks to everyone who came and organizers, my books(Biker Girl, Rock and Roll Love) were sold out! Yeahhhh
People asked me a lot about Detective Jermain vol1 which will be out this fall. I can't wait to bring this book next year.
In this convention I made a lot of new friends:Tokyo Hanako and Yokkaijo studio. They're amazing artists. We took a lot of photos. I'll update photos when I go back'n NYC.
Besides these cool artists, I became friends with sweet teenagers who bought my books! Thank you guys! They're from Cheddar. I hope I can see them next year too!
Also I met Belgian com-con people too. They invite me to their show too and gave me a homemade Belgian chocolates! I ate four of them right away. They're so tasty. So in near future I might go to comicon in Belgian too!

I'm about to leave to a meeting with Walker Books Limited. We'll discuss about Detective Jermain series. And then I'll go to see manman show tonight! Remember they're me and kuririn's most favorite band from Philly! Right now they're doing Europe tour. How coincidence! I got a ticket already...heehee. I can't miss their show.

All right, I'll update more news tomorrow again!

At Paddington station

I arrived at London the other day. It was a holiday here, so when I got Paddington station, I saw a lot of people were in a line for taxi. I was very tired and wanted to see my friends soon, so I took a BLACK CAB which rippied me off really really bad!!!!!!!!
They charged me twice as much as usual taxi. I had to yell at the driver, so he didn't care and then took off!!
I'm sooooooooooo stupid to get the cab.
Well at least I learned a lesson...right?

Tomorrow I'm going to visit random house office in Oxford! I have never been there before. It will be nice visit and meeting with them! I'll let you know what kind of meeting I'll have!

Even though I spent too much money on this stupid cab, the weather here is gorgeous and I'm happy!!
